Free Samples!

We'd love to be able to give you samples of our wonderful bagels and cream cheese we serve every Sunday, or give you a taste of our fair trade coffee that we brew. But until someone invents a way to transport matter through the internet, we'll just have to settle for giving you samples of what you would hear and see if you came to worship at Living Water. After you've tried some samples, come experience the real thing next Sunday at either the 9:30 or 11:00 worship service. Sample what God could do in your life if you became part of this church community!

What is unique about Living Water?

The first thing you'll notice is that worship is in a coffee house setting, with chairs around small tables. The room is decorated with a fountain, palm trees, candles, flowers, and fabrics. You will feel comfortable and relaxed in this casual, creative place. Arrive a few minutes before worship to grab a bagel and a cup of coffee, tea or lemonade.  You are welcome to bring your food with you into the service, which will last about an hour.

What is the service like?

The music is mainly contemporary with a band.  Song lyrics, scriptures, and graphics are projected on a large, high-definition screen. Services frequently include video clips, multimedia, drama, dance, or special music.  Sometimes there are moments of silence so you can share your own thoughts with God.

Will I learn something I can use in my life?

Pastor Laura is committed to going deep into Scripture by doing lots of study in preparation for her messages, but she always tries to answer the question, “So what?”  She believes that Scripture can change us when we understand what it said to its original audience, and what it might be saying to us today. (Check out what happened in worship last week and listen to the message, or go back as far as you like in our worship archive.)

Usually Pastor Laura groups messages into a series with a common theme, lasting several weeks. Read about the current series here. You can get a good idea of topics for past series by browsing the worship archive.

What do you have for kids?

Families are welcome to worship together.  There is child care available for little ones, but all children are welcome during worship.  Kids can work on some activity pages during the service if they like, but many of them are interested in watching what is going on.  It is in this watching (the worship leaders as well as the parents) that children begin to become worshippers, too.

Will I feel out of place?

Although worship is not a spectator sport, it's also true that people come from many different places.  Some people love to sing, others don’t.  Some people are comfortable trying new things, others aren’t.  Some people want to jump in and participate any way they can the first time they visit, others would rather just observe.  It's all good.  There aren't any expectations about what you already know or don’t know.  Just leave yourself open to God, listening for His voice and participating as you feel comfortable. Many people have felt the presence of God during worship at Living Water.
