"The Garden of Gethsemane"

Guest preacher Abby Olson contemplated the humanity of Jesus that we see in the Garden of Gethsemane. Seeing his anguish reminds us that he struggled as we struggle, yet Jesus taught us to say, "Not my will, but Yours be done."
We realized that Jesus was dealing with fear, sorrow and even temptations, but he kept his eyes on God and trusted that this was the path he needed to take.
We watched a clip from Jesus Christ Superstar where we saw Jesus in the Garden wondering, "Will this matter?" Jesus knew his disciples were just people who would betray him and mess up. He forgave them as he forgives us.
We prayed a prayer of thanksgiving for God's grace in our lives.
We celebrated communion around the table.
