"The Holy Spirit Gives Us Spiritual Gifts"

Here's an instant replay of what happened in worship:
- We saw a drama about people wanting to return their spiritual gifts at the complaint department...until, that is, they saw how their gifts fit perfectly in the Body of Christ.
- We heard about a program for children that told them they are "talented and gifted." Every child is talented and gifted! And as children of God, each one of us also has unique and wonderful gifts - spiritual gifts - given by the Holy Spirit.
- We learned that one definition of spiritual gift is: a supernatural ability to accomplish a given ministry within the Body of Christ. It is supernatural because it is beyond anything we could manufacture on our own. When we use this gift, we feel alive; we're in the zone. It is for a ministry within the Body of Christ, the Church. This means that it is given so we can do the things Jesus did - teach, heal, feed, love.
- We read what Paul taught the Corinthian church about spiritual gifts in 1 Cor. 12:4-13, 27-28. Each gift is important. Each gift has a place.
- We learned that there are many online resources to help people find their spiritual gifts, but an easy place to start is just to listen to our heart. What do we care about deeply? What would we do if money and obligations were not an issue? How would we serve the Body of Christ if all opportunities were available to us?
- We prayed for the Spirit to help us find and use our gifts.
- We celebrated communion at the table of forgiveness and new life.
