"Becoming a Missionary"

We interrupted our summer sermon series on Old Testament stories to hear from guest preacher Glenn Kelley of Unboxed Church, who covered for Pastor Laura while she is leading a mission trip to New Mexico. Glenn preached on the Woman at the Well, one of the foundational scripture passages for Living Water Christian Church.
We learned about the eastern religious idea of "han," a physical, emotional, spiritual response to a terrible wrong done to a person. The Woman at the Well's han was the pain of having had five husbands and being rejected by her community.
We discovered that Jesus healed the pain of the Woman at the Well's past, transformed it into a source of strength, and used it to fuel her passion to tell others.
We realized that the woman instantly became a missionary after meeting Jesus. She couldn't help but lead others into a new life with Christ.
We shared communion, in memory of everything Jesus has done for us.
