"Faithfulness"

Here's an instant replay of what happened in worship:
- We recognized that adultery is a problem in many marriages. Studies show that somewhere around 20% of women and 30% of men have an affair.
- We thought about what it takes for someone to cross that line, to enter into the "moment of maybe." King David crossed the line when he was lurking on the rooftop watching Bathsheba rather than leading his men in battle. In 2 Sam. 11:1-5, we see that David's sin began when he started spending time on a rooftop where he didn't belong.
- We realized that all of us have "rooftops" in our lives - places and relationships that have the potential to damage our marriages. Our vows of faithfulness are not just about turning down a stranger who makes a pass at us. They are about making sure that we aren't spending time on the rooftops, especially when we are feeling restless and unappreciated by our spouse.
- We remembered that God offers forgiveness to anyone who has had an affair, but He expects us to do our part to make sure it never happens again. God also knows what the spouse is feeling who has been cheated on, and God can help that person forgive their mate, whether they decide to stay in the marriage or not.
- We prayed that God would help us identify the dangerous rooftops in our lives and stay away from them.
- We welcomed all broken people to the table of love and forgiveness
