Who We Are
We're pretty sure you've never been to a church
quite like this before
Who are we? Well, you might say we’re a church for people who are ready to experience church in a new way. These may be people who have thought things like:
“Going to church is a waste of a perfectly good Sunday.”
“Churches have more scandals than Washington politics.”
“You have to ‘check your brain at the door’ when you go to church. You can’t ask real questions and expect anything more than trite, canned answers.”
What if there was a church where people could bring their questions and their doubts? What if there was a church where people could hear and learn more about the Bible? What if there was a church that met in a place that felt familiar and comfortable (like maybe a house that has been turned into a coffee house?) and still worshipped God as Christians have been doing for thousands of years?
That's what you'll find at Living Water Christian Church! We're a new church and a new kind of church in the Parkville area, yet we're a part of a 200-year-old American-born denomination - the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). We meet for worship in a house that has been turned into a coffee house. We gather for worship around tables, drinking coffee and iced tea while we worship God. We're a church that welcomes all people and lets them bring their brains with them to worship. We’re not afraid to ask the hard questions of life, and we don’t accept easy, spoon-fed answers. But our worship is not just an intellectual exercise. We regularly encounter and experience the living God in our time of worship. We truly seek to know God and love others the way Jesus loves them.
If you're willing to try something new, come join us on the ground floor of this new thing that God is doing! We're pretty sure you've never been to a church quite like this before.
