Act(s) II

“Lite meal, heavy conversation.”

Sunday mornings at Living Water Christian Church have two parts; the first part is the worship service at 11 am where you will sing, pray and hear the Word of God proclaimed. The second part is a time for study and reflection. It is kind of like a drama (or comedy) in two acts. And what would a play be without intermission and munchies?

That's what happens in Act(s) II. After the service, we share a "lite meal " together and begin to discuss the message. While worship provides the opportunity to hear a sermon that hopefully will make you think, Act(s) II is your chance to talk back -- to raise insights, questions or even disagreements with what the preacher said. The kids and youth have their own time together where they can learn and discuss issues important to them. For the adults, Pastor Laura usually leads a conversation about the sermon in which she shares a “director’s cut” – cool stuff she learned that didn’t make it into the sermon, and invites you to share your own thoughts about what was said. Sometimes she teaches on the Bible passages just before or just after the sermon passage to get a feel for how it all fits together. And sometimes the conversation leads in unexpected directions. But the conversation, like the meal, is always satisfying.
